This landscaping project in Flaunden was a small domestic project covering many areas of landscaping skills. The customer wanted their existing patio replacing, they also required brickwork and fencing. This project was designed by the customer themselves, without the use of a landscape architect.

The first stage was to dig out the previous patio by hand (as there was no machine access), and to dig the footings for the brick planter. Once the concrete had set, the planter was constucted and filled with soil and compost  ready for planting. Next a 50mm type one crushed concrete sub base was installed. Once the base was prepared the fencing was erected and the paving laid on a 50mm solid sharp sand and cement base then pointed with a sand and cement mix.
