The client already had an existing patio/pond on this part of the garden.  However the original installers laid it with a very steep fall, so much so that it was virtually unusable.  We were asked to develop a solution, so we installed green oak sleepers to retain the lawn, giving us a much flatter base to work with.  We then installed green oak sleepers for the pond area (which the client chose to finish himself) to keep continuity through the project.  The ‘Millstone Paving’ was laid on a full bed of mortar, over a 50-70mm type 1 crushed concrete base, and pointed with sand/cement.
