On this job the client wanted to create an outside space which carried straight through from the inside. This was achieved by installing decking at the same height as the inside floor level (Not to be done with paving!).  The decking was a brand new product to the market, which is a composite deck rather than timber.  

The decking itself was constructed from 6x2 joists and 4x4 posts all concreted into the ground. The timber was all treated for outside use, and the joists where spaced at 500mm centres to prevent flexing of the deck, which occurs when the sub frame is incorrectly built. We did have a bit of a learning curve with this new product, but as you can see from the results all the head scratching was worthwhile.
