Project Overview
South Bucks Hospice is a day care hospice in High Wycombe which offers palliative care. This garden design and landscaping project was something we really wanted to be a part of.
The whole project was designed around Brenham, which we had to keep in mind as the hospice had to score points to make sure the garden was a true Brenham garden.
South Bucks Hospice Garden Design
The garden was built slightly differently from a conventional garden because we had to make sure the whole site was wheelchair friendly. To align with this, rather than installing steps we had to create slopes to suit the builder’s levels to ensure all thresholds were flush.
The garden design includes a range of beautiful elements, including two water features and garden lighting as adornments. The structure of this garden takes shape through an oak pergola, resin bound gravel, sleeper walls and millboard decking to provide several unique zones for patients and their families.
A beautiful addition to this landscape is the memorial walk with some inspiring thoughts for patients to contemplate whilst enjoying the garden.
Finished Result
The garden is a tranquil place for patients and their families to enjoy relaxing outside. The whole design is focused on creating a safe, calm environment.
